3-Piece airlocks: Simply remove the cap, fill the cylinder about halfway (to the imprinted line) with water or sanitizer, and replace the cap. 3-piece airlocks are easy to clean with an airlock brush if the fermentation back up into the airlock. If you expect a blow off or are in the middle of you, simply attach 3/8 inch tubing to the airlock and submerse other ind in a bucket of sanitizer or water.
