Because they are real wood each unit may have imperfections. This isn't a defect, it is a function of using real poplar.

You can of course use our trays with sushi or sashimi, but the possibilities are limitless. Use them for fruit, desserts, side dishes, popcorn, hot dogs, or sandwiches. The solid poplar base holds up well with thicker sauces, but we recommend doubling up the boats for thin, runny sauces.
